Personal Injury

When you are injured in a car accident, fall, or other event, you need to hire an attorney that understands what you are going through, knows the law, and will fight to protect your rights and, as a result, will be able to maximize the compensation you receive. This is what the Schwartzberg Law Firm does every day for its clients in Connecticut and New York.

Car Accidents

Car accidents happen more and more every day as there are more cars and the road, and, frighteningly, more people driving distractedly also.  When you are injured because a driver was not paying attention, and not driving carefully, it is critical that you speak with our office right away, so we can begin an investigation, and find evidence of what happened as quickly as possible.  Some of that evidence, video from nearby cameras, records of cell phone use, vehicle damage, or others, can be lost forever, if you wait, or if you hire the wrong attorney, who does not know to get that evidence while it still exists.  Also, there are sometimes deadlines shortly after an accident, during which time you must file papers with your insurance company, so your own insurance company will be required to provide you with all of the insurance coverage to which you are entitled.

A car accident does not need to be a high speed crash in order to cause permanent and life altering injuries.  Many times, even if there is little or no obvious property damage, the force of a car crash can cause injury to many parts of your body, especially when that crash comes without warning, and depending on the exact position of your body at the moment of the crash.

Defective Premises

When you enter on to the property of another, you are entitled to feel safe and secure that the owner of that property and any other individuals or companies who occupy that property are keeping that property safe in all ways.  Unfortunately, that often doesn’t happen far too often.  Floors and sidewalks crack, and may remain unrepaired; stairs, handrails and lighting need to be kept in their best condition; snow and ice are frequently allowed to accumulate and remain, dangerously thawing and refreezing over the course of days, or being spread inside on to hard unforgiving floors.  Separately, property owners can keep their property well repaired, but dangerous as a result of the design of the property.  For example, a downspout that pours water onto a pathway, or a ramp that is the same color as a driveway.

Medical Malpractice

Medical mistakes are a leading cause of death in the United States, and severe injuries short of death can occur when doctors do not meet the high standard that we all have rightly come to expect from them.  Due to the onerous restrictions placed by health and other insurers, doctors are largely forced to spend far too much of their time on things other than providing their patients with excellent care.  Doctors and patients alike are worse off due to this reality.  When you or a loved one are harmed because a doctor, nurse or other medical professional fails to do what they ought to do, fails to recognize an illness or give a medication, or takes action that is inappropriate, you need to take action and call our office immediately, so we can work to protect your interests and rights and move to hold those responsible.
